Cards on a line
register sting
Six frames from the After Effects build, top to bottom in time. The move is Olaf Klimasz's elements arrive one by one on white: a route line draws across cream paper and three cards land on it, one after another. Read it, then play the clip at the end.
- 9:16 · 1080×1920
- 9.5 s · 30 fps · sound
- San Diego · date coming
The hook frame. The city card lands first, black on the paper, already settled: San Diego, date coming (the date waits on Michael; a dated cut is rendered beside this one). The blue route line is drawing underneath from frame one.
The hand-off. Card one has left by a tilt and a blur. No card on screen, but the line is still drawing, so there is never a dead frame.
Card two, the cup. Chest-up on the brand blue, clipped to the card. It holds a second with a slow one-degree wobble while the line wraps round the right side.
Card three, the explainer. 5K first. Coffee after. White card, soft shadow, the line looping over the top. Same entrance recipe as the other two: scale, tilt, blur, 0.3 s.
The end card lands. The line has run off the top. The mark grows in from blur, then the crew line, REGISTER (the one orange) and the URL drop in one after another.
The hold. Nothing new for the last 2.7 s. The mark keeps a slow push so the frame never fully stops. This is the frame the platforms freeze as the cover.
The clip
1080×1920, 30 fps, 9.5 s, with sound (Music: Me Time (Instrumental Version) by Zorro via Epidemic Sound; the bed, the card whooshes and the line's marker-drag live as layers inside the project). Built in After Effects by script and rendered headless; the project file is beside the render so any word, colour or timing can be changed in the app. Anton loaded as the real face.
Square, same build
1080×1080 from the same script (comp MAIN_SQ): the cards and the end card re-measure themselves for the square frame.
